Just my smokes& I
an overcrowded ashtray& some tunes
my girl's still asleep by my side
can barely hear her breathing but shes alright
all in the right here, right now
no words for war, empty bags in tow
shades for the sun and the clouds ain't moving
a made sinner, a saint worth saving
pockets lined with change
but I ain't complaining
my bills are paid,my chores are done
a closet full of empty bottles
lay in wait for a new date
memories float by but I can't hate
heavy nights with spirits of days bygone
but all that was said was eventually done
Regrets are under a welcome rug
everything else dealt with a shrug
So now
Just my smokes& I
an overcrowded ashtray& some tunes
gotta clean this mess up
But I ain't complaining.
she's still asleep by my side
and everything feels just alright
maybe we'll go for a walk later..
